The Make Their Memory Shine Movement was founded by Jewish Students that desire to modernize Holocaust education whilst combatting hate and ignorance by organizing social commemorative events aimed at cleaning all Stolpersteine in Europe. Over 90.000 Stolpersteine, from Spain to Finland, exist and most have become unreadable and black due to negligence. By forming cleaning groups between volunteers of all backgrounds, MTMS succeeds in its goal to combat ignorance, and in turn, hate. The goal is that whilst cleaning, the volunteers explore each other’s identity, culture and stories whilst polishing the Stolpersteine that commemorate those fallen due to Hate.
